Kathleen Kunath

Social Worker

FASD Deutschland

Kathleen Kunath is a Social Worker and leads the FASD Counselling Office Sonnenhof, in Berlin, Germany. She has worked with people with FASD for 20 years. She is also trained in trauma-informed pedagogy, child protection and stress management. At Sonnenhof, she always works in a tandem with experience experts: adults who live with FASD themselves. Together they support people with FASD, families, caregivers and professionals, and they offer FASD training across Germany. With Gela Becker, she studied how adults with FASD rate their own abilities compared to their caregivers, and presented the results as a poster in Seattle. Together with her spouse, Christoph Böhmer, she is a foster parent to a 14-year-old boy with FASD.
